Mold Inspection Park City Utah
I’m in a beautiful home that’s for sale probably about three or four million dollars and the perspective buyer asked me to do a mold inspection about three or four weeks ago because there had been a prior water damage event that the builder disclosed to him. They did some of their own mitigation and drying out but they missed entirely this wall that was wet. We found it and pointed it out to them and at the time it had been wet for a full month.
We told him there was going to be mold and they needed a mold removal service. The buyer said the seller did their own thing or hired somebody else to do mold removal and the buyer’s asked me to come back on her behalf and look at it and give an opinion and do some testing. There is a there’s no containment up right now. I don’t know if they were planning to allow for post remediation sampling as you can see the top of this dresser is is very dusty, so they didn’t even clean surfaces in their work area. They cut the drywall off and as best I can tell the drywall that was removed did was sufficient but they didn’t even lift the insulation to clean up inside the wall. There’s sawdust and debris like crazy and yep this is mold. Here’s some more mold.
Here’s some more mold lots of lots of sawdust lots of debris and on this wall over here, they didn’t even lift the vapor barrier to look at the framing not at all. So I lifted the vapor barrier and lifted up some of the insulation and yeah, we have some visible mold in there. Some mold there.
So I’m not very impressed with whoever supposedly did this mold removal. And that’s gonna be my report to the buyer and we’ll turn in the samples and see what they say as well.
